I just wanted to make everyone aware that we are hosting an extremely rare event here at Crossfit Grand Rapids in September.
I've managed to contract Talon SCS, the industry leading training provider to Law Enforcement and Military for conditioning courses to bring their Ultimate Kettlebell Strategies Course to us on September 14th and 15th.
Until very recently, it has been very rare that they open these courses to civilians, so we are one of the first to have access to this training.
The Instructors are Eric Kohtz, a former Director of Protective Service Teams, Regional Director for ISR Matrix (a Defensive Tactics training provider to LE/MIL), and Human Performance Improvement expert. He is one serious dude.
Leading the course will be Eric McGill. Eric has a bunch of legit championship titles in Olympic Lifting, Strongman, and Kettlebell competitions. He is also one of the Instructors that Crossfit calls to help teach Olympic Lifting Certification Courses. Eric definitely knows his stuff!
A little bit about the course (you can read all about it at www.talonscs.com), but it has been designed from the ground up for what Talon calls, "High Efficiency Athletes". This means people who want to get the most leverage from their training and includes everything from SWAT Operators and Spec Ops people, Crossfit and MMA types to "9am Mom's" with 4 year olds. This is a serious course (but they promised me we would have fun) for people who like to train intelligently and get solid ROI from their time.
This type of training from Talon typically goes for around $1295 but I've arranged for everyone to pay the same price as the First Responders, which is $650. This is a one-time shot and I know that the tuition would be almost double in any other offering, for absolute certain it goes way up in 2014. There are a couple of incentives on the website, one of which is free entry into the $195 Advanced Mobility and Bodyweight Seminar on Friday night if you register before that fills up.
